A seasoned professional, I write primarily on business topics, but am flexible enough to deal with topics as diverse as health care, politics and finance with sophistication and flair. My clients have included the Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Hahnemann University, Knoblauch Bank, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Delaware County Historical Society, the American Society of CLU & ChFC and the Religious Society of Friends (the Quakers). In addition, I am a monthly contributor to Professional Jeweler, the newest and "most useful" trade magazine for retail jewelers; Advance for Nurses, a monthly professional journal for practicing and soon-to-be nurses; and Main Line Today, a monthly consumer magazine serving Philadelphia's western suburbs. Before venturing out on my own in 1991, I was public relations manager for Laventhol & Horwath, a Philadelphia-based accounting/consulting firm that I joined in 1987. There, I managed all media relations activities for the firm's hospitality and healthcare practices. From 1982 to '87, I was southwest editor for New York-based Gralla Publications, covering the southwestern states for trade publications in the construction, banking, jewelry, apparel, interior design and retail industries. (References? I got 'em. Click here.) Previously, I was a general assignment reporter for daily newspapers in Michigan and Florida. I also served as a press aide to the attorney general of Michigan in 1975-'76. In 1973, I received a bachelor's degree in English from Albion College, Albion, MI, followed by a bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, in 1976. I live in Wayne, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, with my wife, Cynthia Pyle Dixon, an attorney, and daughters Abigail (b. 1990) and Rachel (b. 1997) . I'm an avid gardener and genealogist, and usually have at least one remodeling, repair or restoration project underway on our 1816 Pennsylvania farmhouse.
